Business Migration Visa - Australia

Business migrants are granted a Business Skills (provisional) visa for four years and, after establishing
the requisite levels, are eligible to make an application for a Business Skills (Residence) visa.
However, applicants in the ‘Business Talent’ category are eligible for permanent residence immediately.

The Australian Business Skills Visa program is designed to attract successful business migrants. It has recently been
strengthened and is supported in each State and Territory. If you wish to establish a business in Australia, business
migration is for you. You can apply for a visa establish or manage a new or existing business or invest in Australia.

You must show a demonstrated business or investment history and you must meet basic eligibility and/or pass a points test
in order to be eligible to apply for any Business Visa. Please complete our Free Assessment and we will assess your current immigration status. Additional significant criteria must be met before you can proceed to the application stage.

Business Owner Visa
 
For owners or part-owners of a business(es). You or you and your spouse combined must have net assets in a qualifying
business of at least A$200,000 for 2 of the last 4 fiscal years, you must have a substantial ownership interest in this
business and if the business is publicly listed your shareholding must exceed 10% of the total issued capital of the company.

Your main business(es) has an annual turnover of at least A$500,000 for 2 of the last 4 fiscal years, you or you and your
spouse combined have business and personal assets of at least A$500,000, you or you and your spouse have business
and personal assets in addition to the assets mentioned above that are of sufficient net value to settle in Australia.

You are under 45 years old, you have competent English language skills and your company turnover is not accrued by more
than 50% of its time providing professional, trade or technical services and you have a direct involvement in this company.

State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner Visa

For owners or part-owners of a business in a State or Territory of Australia. You must have a substantial
ownership interest in a business that has an annual turnover of at least A$300,000 for 2 of the last
4 fiscal years OR you have an employment record in a senior management role for at least 4 years.
You or you and your spouse combined have business and personal assets of at least A$250,000.

You are under 55 years old, you have competent English language skills and your company turnover is not accrued by more
than 50% of its time providing professional, trade or technical services and you have a direct involvement in this company.

Senior Executive Visa

For a senior executive or manager of a major business. You have occupied a position in the 3 highest levels of
management of a major business for at least 2 of the last 4 fiscal years, you intend to genuinely establish or
participate in a business in Australia, to maintain a substantial ownership interest in that business and maintain
direct involvement in the management of that business. You are also responsible for strategic policy
development affecting a main aspect of the business or a wide range of the business’ operations.

You or you and your spouse combined have business and personal assets with a net value of at least 500,000 available for
transfer to Australia, you or you and your spouse combined have business and personal assets in addition to the ‘business
establishment assets mentioned above that are of sufficient net value to settle in Australia. You must be under 45 years of
age (exceptions apply), you have an overall successful business career and you have competent English language skills

State/Territory Sponsored Senior Executive Visa

For senior executives or managers of a major business in a State or Territory or Australia. You have occupied
a position in the 3 highest levels of management of a major business for at least 2 of the last 4 fiscal years,
you intend to genuinely establish or participate in a business in Australia, to maintain a substantial ownership
interest in that business and maintain direct involvement in the management of that business.

You or you and your spouse combined have ‘business establishment assets’ of A$250,000 to transfer to Australia
within 2 years for the conduct or establishment of a business in Australia, you or you and your spouse
combined have business and personal assets in addition to the ‘business establishment assets’ mentioned
above that are of sufficient net value to settle in Australia. You must be under 55 years of age (exceptions apply),
you have an overall successful business career and you have competent English language skills

Investor Visa

For people who have a successful business or investment career, and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be
involved in investing or business in Australia. You must have a high-level of management skill in relation to your
investments, you must demonstrate you have an overall record of eligible investments, you must have at least 3 years
experience of direct involvement in managing investments, for at least 1 of the last 5 fiscal years you or you and your
spouse combined had an ownership interest of at least 10% in a business you had a direct involvement in managing OR

You maintained direct involvement in managing your or your and your spouse's investments the total net value of which
was at least A$1.5 million, for at least the last 2 fiscal years your or your and your spouse’s combined business and
personal assets exceeded A$2,250,000, you can make a government approved Designated Investment of A$1,500,000 in
a State or Territory of Australia.You must be under45 years of age and you must have competent English language skills.

State/Territory Sponsored Investor Visa

For people sponsored by a State or Territory of Australia, who have a successful business or investment career,
and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved in investing or business in Australia. You must have
a high-level of management skill in relation to your investments, you can demonstrate you have an overall
record of eligible investments, for at least 1 of the last 5 fiscal years you or you and your spouse combined
had an ownership interest of at least 10% in a business you maintained direct involvement in managing OR

You maintained direct involvement in managing your or your and your spouse's combined investments the total
net value of which was at least A$750,000, for at least the last 2 fiscal years your or your and your spouse’s
combined business and personal assets exceeded A$1,125,000, you can make a government approved
Designated Investment of A$750,000 in a state or territory of Australia and you must be under 55 years of age.

Business Talent Visa

This visa is designed for high calibre business people who are owners or part owners of an overseas business
and have a genuine and realistic commitment to participate in the management of a new or existing business
in Australia. Your main business (or two main businesses) have a significant annual turnover and you can
demonstrate your commitment to business in Australia. You or you and your spouse combined have significant
business and significant personal assets, you must be sponsored by a State or Territory government, you
must have had an overall successful business career and generally you must be under 55 years of age.

In addition there are two categories for persons, who are in Australia on temporary visas,
other than the Business Skills (provisional) visas:

Regional Established Business in Australia

For a temporary resident in Australia, and has a proven ownership interest in one or more successful businesses
in Australia who you can apply for permanent migration under in Australia. You must be sponsored by a
State or Territory government authority and you must hold a Business (Long Stay) visa (subclass 457).

You must have been in Australia as a temporary resident for at least 12 months cumulatively out of the last
24 months and been actively involved, and directly responsible for, the day to day management and overall
performance of your main business (or two main businesses). You must have an ownership interest of
at least 10% in up to two main businesses in a Designated Area of Australia for at least two years before
you apply, your business (or two main businesses) must have had a turnover of at least A$200,000 OR

Your main business has total exports of at least A$100,000; in each of the two years immediately before you apply,
your (or your and your spouse) must have total net assets in Australia of at least A$200,000 for the two years
before you apply, your (or your and your spouse) net assets in your main business (or two main businesses)
in a Designated Area of Australia must be no less than A$75,000 in the 24 months before you apply.
