Australian Student Visa

Anyone who is not an Australian resident may apply to study in Australia. You must however,
obtain a student visa before you can commence a course of study.

This brief information is outlined for Student Visas. Please complete our Free Assessment

Additional significant criteria must be met before you can proceed to the application stage.



Higher Education

This visa is for international students applying to study in Australia and whose main course of study is either; Bachelor degree, Associate degree, Graduate certificate, Graduate diploma or a Masters by course work.

Student Guardians

International students studying in Australia on a student visa may require a guardian if they are under 18 years of age. There may also be circumstances where a student over 18 years of age may need a guardian for religious or cultural reasons.

       
 
AusAid and Defence

A visa designed for international students who are sponsored by AusAID or Defence to study a full-time course of any type.

Non-Award

This visa is for international students who want to study  a non-award foundation studies course in Australia, another full-time course (or components of a course) that does not lead to an Australian award.

  

Onshore - Skilled Graduate

An 18 month temporary visa for overseas students who have obtained an Australian qualification in Australia as a result of at least two (2) years study.

This visa allows applicants who are unable to pass the points test to remain in Australia for 18 months to gain the skills and experience needed to apply for a permanent or provisional Skilled Migration visa. No points test applies.

You must be; under 45 years of age at the time of application and nominate a 50 or 60 point occupation on the Skilled Occupations List

 Your skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation and you must have suitable English language skills.

    

English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS)

For international students who want to study English Language Intensive Courses in Australia. For courses that lead to a certificate I, II, III or IV or courses that result in no formal Australian award

Postgraduate Research

This visa is for international students who want to study a Masters degree by research or a Doctoral degree in Australia

Offshore - Skilled Recognised Graduate

An 18 month temporary visa for graduates of Recognised Overseas Educational Institutions who have skills in demand in Australia. 

There is no points test for this visa and you may apply for permanent residence at any time if you are able to meet the pass mark on the General Skilled Migration points test. 

You must be under 31 years of age and you must have suitable English language skills.
 
Primary or Secondary school sector

This visa is for international students applying to study in Australia and whose main course of study is either; a primary school course. a secondary school course.

This includes junior and
senior secondary or an approved secondary school exchange program.
