Australian Skilled Visa

The Skilled Migration Program is specifically designed to target migrants who have
skills or outstanding abilities that will contribute to the Australian economy

Your occupation must be on the 'Skilled Occupations List' to qualify to immigrate to Australia.
The Department of Immigration has also introduced a new 'Critical Skills List' to prioritise
occupations that are demand. This list will be updated on a regular basis.

You must meet basic eligibility and/or pass a points test in order to be eligible to apply for
any Australian Skilled Visa. Please complete our Free Assessment

criteria must be met before you can proceed to the application stage.


 

Offshore Skilled Independent

A permanent visa for people with skills in demand in the Australian labour market. Applicants are not sponsored and must;

Pass a points test, be under 45 years of age at the time of application, nominate an occupation on the
 
Skilled Occupations List  Those skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation  and you must have suitable English language skills.

You must have been employed in your nominated occupation for 12 out of the last 24 months before you apply or have met the 2 year study in Australia requirement in the last 6 months.

You can apply for this visa in Australia unless your current visa contains a condition preventing you from doing so, but you must be outside of Australia before it is granted.

New Zealand citizens however can apply and be granted this visa in Australia

           
 

Offshore Skilled Sponsored

A permanent visa for people unable to meet the Skilled – Independent pass mark.

Applicants must be either sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia or be nominated by a participating
State or Territory Government, and

pass a points test lower than that for the Skilled – Independent visa, must be; under 45 years of age at the time of application, nominate an occupation on the  Skilled Occupations List SOL),

Those skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation and you must have suitable English language skills.

You must have been employed in your nominated occupation for 12 out of the last 24 months before you apply or have met the 2 year study in Australia requirement in the last 6 months.

You can apply for this visa in Australia unless your current visa contains a condition preventing you from doing so, but you must be outside of Australia before it is granted.

New Zealand citizens however can apply and be granted this visa in Australia.

             

Onshore Skilled Independent

This is a permanent visa for overseas students who have obtained an Australian qualification in Australia as a result of at least two (2) years study and for holders of certain temporary visas with skills in demand in Australia.

Applicants are not sponsored and must pass a points test, must be under 45 years of age at the time of application and must nominate a 50 or 60 point occupation on the
Skilled Occupations List.

There skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation and you must have suitable English language skills.

You must be the holder of either, a Skilled Graduate, Recognised Graduate or Trade Skills Training visa OR

be an overseas student who has obtained Australian qualifications in Australia within the last 6 months as the result of at least 2 years study and be eligible for permanency immediately.

    
 
Onshore Skilled Sponsored

A permanent visa for overseas students who have obtained an Australian qualification in Australia as a result of at least two (2) years study and for holders of certain temporary visas with skills in demand in Australia.

For applicants not able to meet the Skilled – Independent pass mark, who have either a relative in Australia to sponsor them or a nomination from a State or Territory Government.

You must pass a points test lower than that for the Skilled visa and must be under 45 years of age at the time of application and you must nominate a 50 or 60 point occupation on the Skilled Occupations List
  
Your skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation and you must have suitable English language skills.

You must be the holder of either, a Skilled Graduate, Recognised Graduate or Trade Skills Training visa and you must be sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia or obtain nomination from a participating State or Territory Government

Offshore Regional Skilled
Sponsored Visa

This three (3) year provisional visa is for people who can meet a lower pass mark.

Applicants must be either sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area of Australia or nominated by a participating State or Territory Government.

After living for two (2) years and working for at least one (1) year in a Specified Regional Area, applicants can apply for a permanent visa.

You must be under 45 years of age at when applying and your occupation must be listed on the Skilled Occupations List.

Your skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation and you must have suitable English language skills.

You must have been employed in your nominated occupation for 12 out of the last 24 months before you apply or have met the 2 year study in Australia requirement in the last 6 months.

However, if your recent work experience was obtained in Australia this can be 12 months out of the last 4 years.

 

Onshore Skilled Graduate

An 18 month temporary visa for overseas students who have obtained an Australian qualification in Australia as a result of at least two (2) years study.

This visa allows applicants who are unable to pass the points test to remain in Australia for 18 months to gain the skills and experience needed to apply for a permanent or provisional Skilled Migration visa. No points test applies.

You must be; under 45 years of age at the time of application and nominate a 50 or 60 point occupation on the Skilled Occupations List

 Your skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation and you must have suitable English language skills.

      
 
Offshore Skilled Recognised Graduate

An 18 month temporary visa for graduates of Recognised Overseas Educational Institutions who have skills in demand in Australia.

There is no points test for this visa and you may apply for permanent residence at any time if you are able to meet the pass mark on the General Skilled Migration points test.

You must be under 31 years of age and you must have suitable English language skills.



Onshore Regional Skilled Sponsored

Onshore Regional Skilled Visa

A three (3) year provisional visa for eligible overseas students and holders of certain temporary visas who can meet the lower pass mark for this visa.

Applicants must be either sponsored by an eligible relative living in a Designated Area of Australia or nominated by a participating
State or Territory Government.

After living for two years and working for at least one year in a Specified Regional Area, applicants can apply for a permanent visa.

You must be an overseas student or the holder of a certain temporary visas, you must live for 2 years and work for at least 1 year in a Specified Regional Area.

You must be under 45 years of age at the time of application. You must meet basic eligibility, pass a points test and nominate a 50 or 60 point occupation on the
Skilled Occupations List.

Your skills must be assessed as suitable for the nominated occupation and you must have suitable English language skills.

If you are in Australia you must be the holder of either a Skilled Graduate, Recognised Graduate, Trade Skills Training visa, Working Holiday Maker or an Occupational Trainee visa.

You must be sponsored by an eligible relative living in Australia or obtain nomination from a participating
